SummaryEnergy Transfer is seeking an Entry‑Level GIS Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates with a bachelor’s degree and foundational GIS experience. The successful candidate will support our GIS operations by performing data entry, data conversion, and geospatial editing tasks to maintain accurate and up‑to‑date geospatial data.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Update and maintain Energy Transfer’s geodatabase with contract acreage dedications.
- Perform digitizing tasks, including creating and editing polygon features and adjusting vertices.
- Convert spatial data between formats and ensure data integrity.
- Conduct quality checks to verify accuracy and completeness of GIS data.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain data standards.
Education and/or Experience , Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience:
No prior professional experience required; coursework or academic projects involving GIS are required. - Technical
Skills:- Basic proficiency with GIS software (e.g., Esri ArcGIS).
- Understanding of geodatabases, spatial data formats, and digitizing workflows.
- Other Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an office environment.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
