EMI/EMC Engineer/Analyst
Bastion Technologies, Inc. – JETS II – Full Time – Houston, TX – Supports space program avionics with EMI/EMC expertise.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Report to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager; part of 45 other engineers.
- Collaborate with NASA engineers and industry partners on spaceflight avionics systems.
- Plan, execute, and analyze EMI/EMC tests on electronic hardware at NASA JSC and external facilities.
- Develop test plans, procedures, and reports while learning from senior EMI/EMC engineers.
- Support design reviews, risk assessments, and system integration across avionics, power, RF, and mechanical teams.
- Hands‑on experience with test equipment, circuit design reviews, and EMI/EMC compliance methods.
- Apply industry and NASA standards such as MIL‑STD‑461 to real‑world projects.
- Other duties as assigned.

- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
- Space industry or DoD work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical/electronic engineering, or systems engineering.
- 2+ years of recent and related work experience.
- Strong analytical background with solid understanding of electronic systems, electromagnetic principles, or system integration.
- Hands‑on experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, RF amplifiers, multimeters).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within cross‑functional engineering teams.
- Growth mindset and interest in learning EMI/EMC principles and test methods.
- Coursework in RF systems, shielding/filtering, grounding, or signal integrity.
- Understanding of key EMI/EMC concepts: radiated/conducted emissions, susceptibility, ESD, crosstalk.
- Experience reviewing schematics, PCB layouts from academic or professional projects.
- Familiarity with SPICE, Matlab/Simulink, LabVIEW, and EMI simulation tools.
- Knowledge of MIL‑STD‑461 or other EMI/EMC test and design standards.
- Interest in spaceflight environments (avionics, spacecraft systems).
- Exposure to systems integration or multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
- Hybrid position with 9/80 schedule; every other Friday off; some travel may be required.
- Schedules are subject to change based on the position and customer needs.

- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time); may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
