Are you an experienced engineer with a knack for designing and optimizing electrical control systems? Our client is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer Technician to join their team. This role is perfect for someone with a background in designing electric motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists and is eager to tackle a variety of engineering challenges.
This role will be onsite in North Houston, TX
Daily Responsibilities:
- Design:
Design electric motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists. - Application:
Apply specifications of Magnetic Motor Starters, Relays, and AC inverters. - Support:
Assist in all phases of product development engineering activities. - Calculations:
Calculate wire sizes/overload protection for cranes up to 800V DC and 4160V AC. - Problem Resolution:
Resolve manufacturing problems by collaborating with engineers and technicians. - Drawings:
Prepare single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect drawings. - Component Specification:
Size and specify purchase components/BOMs based on standards and vendor information. - Design Improvement:
Provide input for design improvements to enhance functions or reduce costs. - Collaboration:
Work with mechanical engineering and manufacturing for control system design. - Documentation:
Develop connection/cable diagrams and general arrangement drawings. - Field Support:
Travel to sites for meetings or troubleshooting control systems when required.
Must have
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 4+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer
- 4+ years of experience with Electrical Design
- 3+ years experience with Motor Controls
- PLC & HMI Programming experience
- NEC Electrical Code
- Rockwell, Siemens, or Danfoss PLC/VFD programming experience
