Principal Mechanical Engineer – Rotating Equipment – to be based in Houston, TX.

You will specify, research, engineer, analyze, evaluate, and document mechanical equipment to meet requirements applying knowledge of engineering principles. You are responsible for engineering activities and the development of technical deliverables to meet the schedule, scope, budget, and quality requirements of multi‑discipline projects. Prefer experience with larger projects, $250M+ TIC.

• Prepare and review mechanical equipment engineering specifications.
• Prepare and/or review datasheets for mechanical equipment.
• Prepare material requisitions for quote (MRQ), technical bid evaluations (TBE), material requisitions for purchase (MRP) and review vendor’s documentation for mechanical equipment.
• Prepare hand and/or computer aided mechanical calculations as required.
• Support process engineers with the selection of materials of construction for piping and equipment.
• Prepare/review piping specifications.
• Provide mechanical input to line list, specialty items list and equipment list.
• Help with the resolution of engineering and design problems.
• All other duties as assigned.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad‑hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee’s skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently.

All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee’s current workload and with respect to their professional development.
