Overview

Caturus, LLC, an integrated natural gas and LNG company focused on responsible sourcing of low-emission fuel to domestic and international markets, is looking for a Senior Engineer, Static Equipment who will serves as the technical lead for static mechanical engineering issues. This role involves overseeing critical fixed mechanical assets, providing advanced troubleshooting, and leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for mechanical incidents.

The Senior Engineer, Static Equipment will also develop and administer Mechanical Integrity inspection and preventative maintenance programs, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of fixed equipment while capturing lessons learned for future improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Review design drawings and calculations conducted by vendors and EPC company for pressure vessels, Tanks and heat exchangers.
  • Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of fixed mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and piping systems. Condensate and LNG Loading arms, ship gangway system, valves, filters, HVAC, flares, restriction orifices fire system equipment (e.g. monitors, deluge etc.), and any related.
  • Review and approve welding procedures, and welding qualifications.
  • Provide support for Commonwealth LNG’s Systems and Processes:
    Hose management, flange management, pressure equipment repair and fitness for service, welding and NDT, piping stress analysis, piping vibration management (including AIV/FIV).
  • Provide mechanical engineering support for both day-to-day plant operations and long-term reliability and availability targets, including frontline response for mechanical issues and failures.
  • Drive continuous improvement in fixed mechanical equipment (safety, cost, availability) through:
  • Maintenance strategy optimization
  • Bad actor analysis
  • Management of Change
  • Debottlenecking and efficiency optimization
  • Define and implement QA/QC programs for mechanical equipment maintenance.
  • Review and approve static equipment fabricators inspection and test plans.
  • Provide feedback to quality manager on quality program and quality assurance as related to static equipment.
  • Provide Quality Control over high-risk mechanical equipment maintenance activities.
  • Ensure an MOC process is followed through the implementation of changes on mechanical equipment and packages.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to all discipline specifications, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Participate in the review and approval of engineering designs, modifications, and repair plans.
  • Provide integral interaction and support for other intercompany teams, such as Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Quality, Process Safety Management (PSM), and Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE).
Qualifications

Education, Certificates, and Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer required.
  • PE preferred.

Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in Engineering required.
  • Experience in commissioning required.
  • LNG experience overseeing projects with understanding of Cryogenics conditions and limitations required.
  • Familiarity with asset integrity programs is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of ASME section VIII and IX codes, NFPA and API standards.
  • Familiarity with FERC and PHMSA requirements on static equipment.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and work within project deadlines, and adjust as priorities changes occur
  • Have the ability to read and interpret engineer drawings to include P&IDs, PFDs, C&Es, One Line Diagrams, Isometrics, and Civil/Structural drawings.
  • Experience with systems completions.
  • Strong understanding of the design and operation of heat exchangers and process piping.
  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
