The Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) Risk Lead will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the day-to-day processes, workflows, products, and standard operating procedures (SOP) for the Risk operations group as part of the larger LTV Operations team. They will build, train, and manage a high-performing Risk team to support LTV operations. The Risk lead will act as the primary technical liaison for discussions and collaboration with other LTV Operations group leads and LTV engineering personnel to ensure integration for successful mission execution.
The Risk lead has the opportunity to support real-time mission operations. They are responsible for anomaly tracking and resolution plans, processes, compliance, and maintenance as well as ensuring safety compliance for all LTV training and mission activities and equipment to ensure TMR readiness to support NASA and commercial LTV missions.
* Employment in this role is contingent upon NASA selecting Intuitive Machines as the winner of the LTVS program, scheduled for announcement later in 2025.
Responsibilities- Establish and manage day-to-day processes, workflows, products, and standard operating procedures (SOP) for the Risk operations group within the LTV Operations team.
- Build, train, and manage a high-performing Risk team to support LTV operations.
- Act as the primary technical liaison for discussions and collaboration with other LTV Operations leads and LTV engineering personnel to ensure integration for successful mission execution.
- Support real-time mission operations when required.
- Oversee anomaly tracking, resolution plans, and related processes and compliance; maintain safety compliance for all LTV training and mission activities and equipment.
- Ensure readiness to support NASA and commercial LTV missions (TMR readiness).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an accredited STEM or related field and 8+ years of experience, or M.S. and 5+ years, in real-time robotic spacecraft with focus in:
- Experience with anomaly tracking, response, and resolution processes, workflows, products, and standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Real-time anomaly response and resolution tracking
- Experience with risk management and mitigation
- Supporting mission timeline, procedure, and contingency planning development
- Familiarity with Class A spaceflight safety standards, processes, and requirements
- Experience managing or supporting non-conformance tracking
- Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with processes, workflows, product development, and standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Excellent organization and time management skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to work across multiple teams and balance competing priorities
- Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlines
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Team-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- This role requires in-office presence in Houston, Texas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Class A spaceflight missions, human spaceflight, or human-rated vehicle development
- Experience with autonomous spaceflight missions, spaceflight robotics, or autonomous mission development
