Job Title: Senior Mechanical Designer / Drawing Checker – Reciprocating Compression

Location: Houston, TX

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer / Drawing Checker to join a leading Houston-based engineering and manufacturing company specializing in skid-mounted reciprocating compressor packages for oil and gas applications. This is a hands-on role where you’ll review, create, and validate detailed mechanical and piping drawings for manufacturing, ensuring designs meet engineering standards and fabrication requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and check mechanical, structural, and piping drawings for reciprocating compressor packages.
  • Ensure all designs comply with company standards, engineering specifications, and industry codes.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to resolve design and constructability issues.
  • Maintain drawing documentation, revisions, and quality control records.
  • Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on best practices in mechanical and piping design.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in mechanical/piping design or checking for oil and gas compression equipment.
  • Strong experience with reciprocating compressors, skid-mounted systems, or rotating equipment packages.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar CAD tools.
  • Solid understanding of ASME codes, piping standards, and mechanical fabrication practices.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
