Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineer
An innovative energy technology company is seeking a Project Engineer to support the development of next-generation low-carbon power projects across the United States. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, project development, and regulatory strategy, helping bring complex energy infrastructure projects from concept to investable opportunity.
The RoleYou will support early-stage technical development of advanced power generation sites, including nuclear-based systems and complementary gas infrastructure. The position spans site assessment, conceptual design, permitting support, grid interconnection planning, and cost estimation. You’ll play a key role in standardising early development engineering inputs and supporting go/no-go investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct site feasibility studies and technical assessments for energy infrastructure projects
- Develop conceptual layouts, plant configurations, and preliminary engineering designs
- Establish and maintain standardised early-stage design parameters and engineering inputs
- Support preparation of RFP responses and technical documentation
- Evaluate civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical requirements, including grid and utility connections
- Assess supporting gas infrastructure such as pipelines, valves, and interconnections
- Prepare high-level cost estimates, CAPEX models, and constructability reviews
- Support early permitting efforts and identify regulatory or technical red flags
- Coordinate with utilities, transmission owners, regulators, and external stakeholders
- Identify engineering, constructability, logistical, and regulatory risks and propose mitigations
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Energy Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 3–5+ years’ experience in energy infrastructure, power generation, or project development
- Exposure to nuclear, gas-fired generation, or large-scale energy projects preferred
- Understanding of grid interconnection, transmission systems, and utility coordination
This is an opportunity to work on technically complex, high-impact energy projects that support the transition to reliable, scalable, low-carbon power. You’ll gain exposure across engineering, commercial, and regulatory disciplines while helping shape how future energy infrastructure is deployed. Apply to the button below.
