Midstream EPCM | Houston, TX (Hybrid / Client-Facing) About the Role
We are partnering with a growing midstream-focused EPCM engineering firm to add a Business Development Representative to support continued expansion across pipeline, facilities, and midstream infrastructure projects.
This is a newly created role designed for candidates ranging from entry level up to ~ 6 years of experience who want to build a long-term career in engineering services business development
. You’ll work closely with senior business development leaders and experienced engineers, gaining hands‑on exposure to how technical projects are identified, scoped, proposed, and delivered.
This is not transactional sales — it’s a project-driven, relationship‑based BD role in the oil & gas midstream space.
What You’ll Be Doing Sales & Business Development- Proactively identify and engage potential clients including midstream operators, pipeline companies, EPC partners, and energy infrastructure owners
- Support opportunity development from early outreach through proposal submission
- Maintain an active pipeline of prospects, pursuits, and client interactions
- Assist with forecasting and pursuit tracking
- Participate in introductory calls, capability discussions, and follow‑ups with engineering managers, project managers, operations leaders, and procurement teams
- Support relationship‑building efforts with both new and existing clients
- Monitor project announcements, permitting activity, and industry developments to identify new opportunities
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to translate client needs into clear scopes of work and pursuit strategies
- Support RFQs, RFPs, and proposal responses, including coordination of technical inputs and schedules
- Assist with qualification packages, presentations, and marketing materials
- Track regional midstream capital projects, pipeline expansions, facility upgrades, and maintenance programs
- Research competitor activity, service offerings, and market trends
- Share actionable market and customer insights with leadership and engineering teams
- Entry level through ~5–6 years of experience in business development, sales support, proposals, or client‑facing roles
- Exposure to oil & gas, energy, engineering, construction, or infrastructure environments is preferred, but not required
- Experience supporting proposals, RFQs, or technical documentation is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Curiosity and willingness to learn technical concepts
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple pursuits
- Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to outreach and follow‑up
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Energy Commerce, or a related field
- Technical coursework or engineering exposure is a plus, but not required
- Hybrid role: expected to attend a weekly in‑office meeting; otherwise primarily client‑facing
- Territory focused on the Houston / regional midstream market
- No direct reports; works independently while closely collaborating with engineering and leadership teams
