We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer – LNG to join our Centre of Excellence engineering team in Houston. This is a hands‑on role supporting the full lifecycle of LNG projects, from early concept and Pre‑FEED through detailed engineering, commissioning, startup, and initial operations.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise in LNG process design, simulations, equipment sizing, and field execution, along with a practical, delivery‑focused mindset.
Texas PE registration and prior LNG project experience are preferred.
As a Process Engineer – LNG, you will:
- Develop and execute core process engineering deliverables, including: design Basis documents, process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat & Material Balances (HMB), P&IDs, Process datasheets
- Perform process simulations and mass/energy balances using Aspen HYSYS or equivalent tools
- Validate simulation models and design assumptions
- Define, size, and specify major process equipment, including:
Heat exchangers, Vaporizers, Cryogenic distillation columns, Compressors and pumps - Prepare vendor specifications and conduct technical evaluations
- Support technical bid evaluations, scope reviews, and constructability reviews
- Provide engineering support during detailed design, commissioning, and startup
- Troubleshoot process and operability issues in the field
- Ensure compliance with applicable LNG codes, standards, HSE requirements, and client specifications
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and controls)
- Interface with vendors, suppliers, and construction contractors
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
- Deliver practical, production‑oriented engineering solutions
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent (required)
- 10+ years of process engineering experience on LNG projects in an EPC environment
- Proven experience in FEED and detailed engineering phases
- Open to strong mid‑level candidates with demonstrated LNG project success
- Proficiency in Aspen HYSYS (preferred) or equivalent simulation software
- Strong understanding of: LNG liquefaction technologies, Cryogenic processing systems, LNG‑specific equipment
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Solid knowledge of mass and energy balance development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong documentation and reporting capabilities
- Effective coordination and stakeholder management
- Willingness to support site and commissioning activities
- Results‑oriented, safety‑focused mindset
- Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
- Working knowledge of API, ASME, NFPA, and international LNG standards
- Experience with cost‑conscious and schedule‑driven project execution
- Familiarity with Houston‑area EPC projects, Gulf Coast logistics, and permitting processes
