  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop detailed and accurate project estimates
  • Perform quantity take-offs for materials, equipment, and labor requirements
  • Analyze project scope, schedule, and technical requirements to ensure competitive and accurate pricing
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain material and equipment pricing
  • Prepare bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure smooth transition of awarded projects
  • Maintain and update estimating databases, templates, and pricing standards
  • Identify project risks, constructability issues, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and job site visits as required
  • Stay current on industry trends, NEC code requirements, and market pricing

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Estimator within a commercial or industrial electrical contracting environment
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, plans, specifications, and NEC code requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, McCormick, Con Est, or similar tools
  • Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience estimating commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, hospitality, or public sector projects
  • Exposure to design-build and negotiated work
  • Experience coordinating closely with project management and field supervision
  • Familiarity with cost analysis, bid strategy, and value engineering processes
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Time management and prioritization
  • Clear communication and collaboration
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines
