Vice President Factory Design

A fast-growing innovator in grid-scale energy storage is developing next-generation battery technology to support the global transition to renewable energy. With major commercial traction and a robust project pipeline, the company is scaling rapidly and building multiple advanced manufacturing facilities.

We are seeking a visionary VP of Factory Design to lead the end-to-end strategy, design, and execution of world-class gigafactory infrastructure. This role will shape the blueprint for highly automated, modular, and digitally integrated manufacturing systems — drawing on global best practices and next-gen concepts like the “Factory of the Future.”

• Lead the design and construction of multiple large-scale manufacturing facilities across North America.
• Develop a modular, scalable factory architecture optimized for automation, robotics, and digital twin integration.
• Collaborate with automation vendors, robotics integrators, and EPC partners to deliver cutting-edge facilities.
• Drive factory layout, process flow, and equipment selection to enable high-throughput, low-variability production.
• Build and lead a cross-functional team of engineers, architects, and project managers.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Align factory capabilities with product and business strategy through close collaboration with executive and technical teams.

• 15+ years in advanced manufacturing, including 5+ years leading factory design at scale.
• Experience designing or operating a gigafactory or equivalent high-volume facility.
• Deep expertise in automation, robotics, MES, and digital twin technologies.
• Proven success delivering large-scale capital projects on time and within budget.
• Global mindset with experience working across cultures and geographies.
