Position: Supplier Quality Engineer I

Our client, a leading energy manufacturing organization, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be part of the Quality Department supporting Manufacturing, Engineering, Sourcing, and Field Operations teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, effective cross-functional communication abilities, and a proactive problem-solving mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Houston (Jacintoport), TX

Pay Range: $48-$52/hr Competitive / Based on Experience

There is potential for the role to become hybrid later; however, the selected candidate must be local and able to report to the Houston (Jacintoport) location, as travel to this site will be required. Candidates must be able to work core business hours with flexibility when needed.

  • Define and execute product and process qualifications following Gas Power qualification requirements for fabrications and complex assemblies, ensuring readiness for serial production.
  • Review and approve Manufacturing Process Plans (MPP), Product & Process Quality Plans (PQP), control plans, and inspection plans for assigned components.
  • Ensure CTQ (critical-to-quality), customer, and regulatory requirements are effectively translated into supplier process controls and inspection methods.
  • Manage supplier deviations and nonconformances, including risk assessment, containment, rework, recovery actions, and cross-functional disposition.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA), FMEA activities, and supplier audits to drive corrective actions, continuous improvement, and reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
What’s Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or quality engineering within an industrial or energy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of product/process qualification, FAI validation, process capability, and quality tools (RCA, FMEA, control plans).
  • Ability to travel to supplier facilities, assembly sites, and wind farm locations as required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Field teams.
