About The Job

The Subcontracts Specialist is responsible for managing the subcontracting process during various project phases (pre‑FEED, FEED, proposals, execution). This includes formalizing subcontracting documentation and working on construction cost estimates or selection for award. The role ensures the site management and administration of subcontracts from award to close‑out.

Main Accountabilities
  • Manage the subcontracting of high‑value, unique, and specialized construction materials, equipment, and services.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures for subcontracting tasks.
  • Oversee the activities of less experienced subcontract personnel and provide guidance to administrative support staff.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractor planning activities to enhance performance.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to develop, deliver, and complete successful projects.
  • Regularly interact with team members through meetings and one‑on‑one discussions for effective communication and project success.
  • Consult with engineering and construction management to clarify material requirements and scopes of work.
  • Prepare and submit requests for quotations and coordinate requests for information (RFIs).
  • Manage subcontractor cost and schedule impact sheets.
  • Discuss needs with subcontractors, review their suggestions, and make recommendations to project management regarding cost reductions and improved delivery terms.
  • Analyze quotations, select suppliers, negotiate prices and schedules, and secure quotations to develop cost information for proposals.
  • Create bid tabulation forms and maintain the supplier database.
  • Ensure all procurement documents are entered and distributed appropriately.
  • Participate in the subcontract development process.
  • Source and qualify bidders, issue bidder lists.
  • Prepare, assemble, and issue calls for tenders, addendums, and tender clarifications.
  • Estimate construction manhours.
  • Perform technical and commercial clarifications.
  • Prepare final bid tabulations.
  • Participate in negotiation, formation, and award of formal subcontracts.
  • Prepare feedback and statistical reports (cost, man hours, productivity, quantities, rework rates) as per corporate guidelines.
  • Administer subcontracts in the field, including change order and back‑charge management, and ensure subcontract closeout.
  • Manage the tendering process for additional field subcontracts (sourcing, calls for bids, offer analysis, award of formal subcontracts).
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent experience in construction‑related procurement or subcontracting activities.
  • 3‑5 years of related procurement, subcontracting, or construction experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, or Energy Transition industry.
Inclusion Standards
  • We challenge our biases and embrace diversity of thought.
  • No one has all the knowledge and solutions, collectively we do.
  • We foster a caring environment where people are respected, comfortable to share and be heard.
  • We promote active listening for effective decisions and action.
