SUMMARY

The Electronics Engineer will work in the Operations department to execute the responsibilities as assigned by the manager. The incumbent will serve as an expert that ensures the materials produced meet the specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Electronics Engineer works to:

• Provides functional testing and documentation on company products.

• Troubleshoot and repair circuit boards to component level as required.

• Operate electronics-related test equipment (Oscilloscope, function generator, multi-meter, etc.).

• Provide maintenance support for test fixtures.

• Assemble products including light mechanical and soldering.

• Prepare all company products for Chamber Screening.

• Performs cycle testing utilizing automated test software.

• Support other departments' technical and product needs as required.

• Label and properly handle nonconforming products.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

• File test files in records retention as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 4 Year Electrical Engineering / Technology degree or related work experience

• Soldering / desoldering experience

• Background in test methods and approaches with electronic devices

• Demonstrated Lab View programming experience (development in software and hardware)

• Understanding of PCB hardware/analog IO/digital IO/serial communication

• Can support debugging test failures on the shop floor and assisting quality with debug/root cause activity.

KNOWLEDGE AND

SKILLS:

• Basic understanding of analog and digital circuitry.

• Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits to the component level.

• Good working knowledge of PC computers and Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Good oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

• Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills; written, oral, and inter-personal.

• Ability to multi-task and work independently.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The individual will be working in a non-smoking factory environment with moderate PC work, light to moderate communication via phones and multiple interruptions. Noise level encountered will vary from minimum to moderate. There may be some exposure to chemicals and fumes. (Refer to the COSHH Folder in this department for specific details regarding chemical exposure.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires frequent walking and sitting with occasional standing, stooping, crouching and reaching/working overhead including stairs to climb.

This position requires occasional pushing and lifting/carrying of heavy boxes and parts weighing 35 lbs. or more. Average vision and hearing are sufficient.
