Position Summary:

The Project Engineer will have a technical background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering to support the execution of microgrid power plants and natural gas asset development & reliability. This role will be responsible for managing project delivery, coordinating with engineering partners, and overseeing packaging vendors-particularly those supplying electrical equipment, large generator engines, and gas turbines. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Manage engineering projects for natural gas engine and turbine-based power plants.

* Oversee and coordinate with electrical vendors, mechanical equipment suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.

* Support procurement efforts by evaluating vendor proposals, equipment specifications, and delivery schedules.

* Provide on-site support during design, installation, and commissioning phases.

* Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, reporting progress to leadership and clients.

* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.

* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify and resolve technical or logistical issues.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors.

Other Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

* 4-10 years of experience in project engineering, ideally within power generation, utilities, or industrial construction.

* Strong knowledge of power plant equipment (natural gas engines, turbines, switch gear, transformers, balance-of-plant systems).

* Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects.

* Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to travel to project sites as required.

* Preferred Skills

* Experience with turbo machinery, rotating equipment, or distributed power systems.

* Knowledge of permitting, codes, and standards relevant to power generation.

* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is an asset.
