Application Engineer - Protection, Automation and Control; f​/m​/x

Responsibilities

• Work diligently to gain a working knowledge of OMICRON protection testing solutions and system protection applications
• Assist internal and external customers in the proper and safe use of OMICRON protection and testing solutions
• Learn to provide competent product and application support of relay, metering, automation, and control equipment testing for internal and external customers
• Use Customer Relationship Management tools (CRM) to monitor assigned queues and administer assigned cases, academy training, and customer meetings
• Learn to use systematic troubleshooting methods to identify and resolve product or application issues
• With the assistance of the team as required, provide product and application support for internal and external customers for testing relay, metering, automation, and control equipment
• Support the marketing & sales activities of OMICRON by participating in industry events such as trade shows, user meetings, and workshops as assigned
• Effectively use OMICRON collaboration tools to interact with the team
• Assist in preparing and delivering in-person or virtual product and application training
• Assist in preparing application notes, magazine articles, and technical papers
• Assist in constructing, operating, and maintaining the training laboratory
• Perform other duties as assigned by the SEC Engineering Manager

• Minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience in protection, automation, and control in the power industry.
• Hands-on experience testing protective relays.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies and maintenance practices to ensure a continuous and reliable power system.

• A Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an accredited school or university.
