Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Project Engineer to join our team, acting as a vital liaison between our customers, designers, and key subcontractors. This pivotal role involves facilitating communication and ensuring that technical information flows seamlessly throughout the project lifecycle, particularly in areas such as Propulsion Single Source Integration, HVAC, Fire Suppression, Outfit, Navigation, and Communications.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact among the customer, design teams, and major subcontractors to guarantee that technical requirements and design deliverables align with the project schedule.
- Interpret ship specifications to ensure that all production deliverables comply with both ship specifications and relevant regulatory standards.
- Review design deliverables for compliance with ABS, USCG, SOLAS, IMO, and other regulatory bodies, ensuring all standards are met without compromise.
- Prepare, revise, and review functional design documents, engineering operating procedures, specifications, and all related documentation to maintain project integrity.
- Coordinate with regulatory organizations by submitting necessary documents for approval and addressing outstanding comments efficiently to expedite the review process.
- Develop and maintain project Technical Action Item Logs and Requirement Matrices, ensuring the distribution of design documents to the production team is accurate and timely.
- Prepare As-built drawings as required, supporting project completion and documentation accuracy.
- Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in ship design and shipbuilding is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and MS Project is essential.
- Knowledge of ship electrical and auxiliary systems is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to understand, interpret, and design in accordance with various classification societies and regulatory standards.
