Position Summary
TEi is seeking a Senior Design Drafter to join our Engineering Team preferably in Houston, TX or at one of its other offices located in Trevose, PA, La Palma, CA or Tulsa, OK.
The Senior Design Drafter position is responsible for preparation of all component sub‑assemblies, sectional details, full fabrication and installation drawings. The role requires assisting shop and sub‑contractors with drawings and limited technical questions. The Senior Design Drafter will perform these duties under direction from the Engineering Manager, Project Engineer and Design Engineer. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Solid Works/Inventor is required for generating Bills of Materials and detailed shop drawings.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Review TEi technical standards and design requirements.
- Develop required general arrangement drawings, fabrication details, assembly drawings and full fabrication drawing packages.
- Prepare Bill of Materials.
- Prepare changes (revisions) where applicable.
- Perform preliminary and final checking/rechecking to ensure accuracy of drawings.
- Perform other drafting duties as assigned and support other engineering departments when necessary.
- Provide training to new drafters.
- Provide services to automate the design-to-detail drawing effort.
- Interface with DCAP/Document Control Software.
- Associate Degree in an Engineering/Design related field.
- 5+ years of Design Drafting Experience.
- Directly related work experience in drafting pressure vessels and heat exchangers for power generation, process, petrochemical, and refinery operations is a plus.
- Three (3) plus years of CAD mechanical design experience using AutoCAD and/or Solid Works/Inventor software.
- Good knowledge of welding symbols and piping and fitting specifications.
- Experience in Solid Works/Inventor is a plus.
- Certification in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and/or AutoCAD or Solid Works/Inventor design software is a plus.
- Proficient in drafting with AutoCAD, Solid Works, Inventor.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
