Job Summary
We are seeking a driven Mechanical Engineer to support our automation, robotics, and fabrication projects. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who enjoys hands‑on design work, problem‑solving, and collaboration with senior engineers. You will work closely with management and project engineers to update mechanical systems, create and revise CAD models and drawings, and support the development of automated and fabricated solutions from concept through implementation.
This position offers strong mentorship, exposure to real-world engineering challenges, and the opportunity to grow within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist senior and management engineers with mechanical design updates, system modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create, update, and maintain 3D models and detailed drawings using Solid Works (primary) and AutoCAD as needed.
- Support the design and integration of automation and robotics systems, including mechanical components, assemblies, and layouts.
- Assist with fabrication drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and design‑for‑manufacturability considerations.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and apply mechanical engineering fundamentals to support design decisions.
- Participate in design reviews and cross‑functional meetings with engineering, fabrication, and operations teams.
- Maintain drawing revision control and engineering documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Support shop and field teams by responding to design questions and assisting with mechanical clarifications.
- Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities for mechanical and automated systems.
- Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and engineering methodologies related to automation and mechanical design.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Working knowledge of CAD software, with Solid Works proficiency required.
- Strong understanding of mechanical components, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with engineers, fabricators, and project managers.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in automation, robotics, and fabrication applications.
- Internship, co‑op, or academic project experience in:
- Automation systems
- Robotics
- Manufacturing or fabrication environments
- Familiarity with fabrication processes such as machining, welding, sheet metal, or assembly.
- Experience preparing or interpreting fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Basic understanding of controls, sensors, actuators, or mechanical integration with electrical systems.
- FE exam passed or actively pursuing Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.
