Our client is seeking a Project Engineer III to support integrity maintenance projects within the natural gas pipeline environment. This role leads the technical execution of engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, including ILI maintenance digs, cathodic protection remediation, corrosion mitigation, and integrity repair programs.
You will collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and field personnel to ensure projects meet safety, regulatory, cost, and schedule expectations. This position requires strong technical judgment, hands‑on integrity experience, and the ability to navigate complex engineering challenges in a regulated environment.
Contract Duration: 12 months | W2
Work Model: Hybrid | Onsite (Monday–Thursday);

- Lead engineering activities for integrity maintenance projects, including ILI maintenance digs, cathodic protection remediation, corrosion mitigation, and repair method selection.
- Develop engineering execution strategies, ensuring alignment with project objectives, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate RFIs, technical clarifications, and internal resource support to maintain project momentum.
- Review and validate technical content in purchase orders, specifications, and contractor documentation.
- Partner with project teams and contractors to ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with engineering standards.
- Develop commissioning plans, oversee project closeout, and ensure accurate documentation of drawings, records, and regulatory files.
- Provide technical expertise during standards reviews and integrity program evaluations.
- Monitor project cost, schedule, and resource utilization; identify and implement technical improvements.
- Support compliance with PHMSA regulations (192/195) and Integrity Management Program (IMP) requirements.
- Participate in meetings, present technical updates, and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders.
- 5+ years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry.
- 2+ years in a project engineering role focused on asset integrity, cathodic protection, corrosion mitigation, or pipeline repair.
- Hands‑on experience with: ILI maintenance digs, Cathodic protection remediation, Corrosion mitigation and Integrity repair methods (sleeves, composite wraps, cut‑outs, recoating)
- Strong understanding of: PHMSA 192/195 regulations, Integrity Management Programs (IMP), Pipeline design principles and engineering standards and NDT technologies.
- Experience managing RFIs, commissioning, project closeout, and cost/schedule performance.
- Ability to interpret engineering deliverables, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general engineering workflow tools.
- PE license (preferred, not required)
- Corrosion control or asset integrity certifications.
- Experience with Power BI for reporting and risk analysis.
- Experience with Aconex or similar document control systems.
- Experience in pipeline construction or system flow analysis.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments (5,000+ employees)
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or coordinating contractor teams.
