A DAY IN THE LIFE
The Sr. Environmental Compliance Professional will be responsible for managing and delivering comprehensive environmental compliance consulting services across the country in a variety of industries and challenging circumstances. In addition to managing scope, schedule, and budget, you will be responsible for preparing compliance plans, reports, and presentations for industrial clients, leveraging support from consultants across Montrose.
Typical projects include preparing waste, water, and chemical permits, and developing the associated written plans and operational procedures. The work will also involve performing multi-media environmental regulatory compliance audits and developing environmental management programs to support ongoing compliance (both bespoke programs and those under ISO
14001). You must make science and regulatory-based recommendations to mitigate the risks associated with non-compliance for our clients. You'll interact directly with clients and will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. You'll need at least five (5) years of relevant environmental regulatory compliance experience for industrial clients. RCRA experience, including preparing Part B permits, is extremely desired.
As a key member of the team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
* Prepare RCRA Part B, Stormwater, and NPDES permits; SWPPPs and SPCC Plans;
Tier II and TRI chemical reports; and preparing operational procedures for waste, water and chemical regulatory compliance obligations.
* Manage multiple environmental projects for clients in the oil & gas, chemical, commercial, manufacturing, and other industrial-related sectors.
* Work within project teams, such as our dedicated air compliance team, to ensure successful and profitable delivery of client projects.
* Provide practical advice to clients as they mature along their corporate environmental journey, from early stages (e.g., compliance assessments, benchmarking) to goal setting and action planning for goal achievement.
* Inspect client facilities to identify applicable local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
* Complete the regulatory filings and reports in compliance with the local, state, and federal agencies.
* Conduct on-site visits to a variety of locations to gather the necessary information to support our project delivery and compliance projects.
* Lead communications between clients, internal subject matter experts, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
* Pursue professional relevant credentials, with the availability of financial support through our tuition reimbursement and continuous education programs. Consider working on or maintaining your CPEA, ISO Accreditation, CHMM, or other recognized credentials to maintain our differentiated talent in the environmental and regulatory compliance space.
* Exercise safe work practices by following all our safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
* Participate in our continuous improvement programs.
* Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
