Structural Engineer; Oil & Gas

Position: Structural Engineer (Oil & Gas) | 10+ Years

** Responsibilities:**
* ** Technical project execution for the day-to-day success of multiple concurrent projects**, including:  + Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project teams  + Leveraging a principles-first approach to develop practical solutions for challenging engineering problems in combination with a deep understanding of codes, standards, and historical industry practices  + Self-performing and advising others in complex analysis, repair design, hands-on fieldwork, and preparation of technically excellent client deliverables (e.g., written reports, presentations, construction details, and specifications)  + Providing high-quality technical reviews of work completed by others  + Sealing project documents as the Engineer of Record, as appropriate
* ** Project management**, including client development; project initiation, scoping, and assembling appropriate project teams; and managing internal and external client expectations, deliverables, and financials
* ** Contributions to practice development and company-wide objectives**, including providing technical consultation to interdisciplinary project teams; fostering new and existing client relationships; collaborating with other WJE practice leaders for in-house knowledge-sharing and training initiatives; and engaging in meaningful involvement in industry-related professional organizations, conferences, and technical committees
* ** Mentorship**, including exemplifying WJE’s culture of shared destiny and knowledge sharing to better the team around you: locally and company-wide, formally and informally, on-and-off projects, for technical topics and overall career development

* Qualifications:

**
* ** Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)**; SE licensure a plus
* ** Bachelor’s degree or higher
** in civil/structural engineering or related field; master’s degree or PhD preferred
* ** Minimum ten years
** of relevant industry experience within petrochemical, refining, upstream, midstream, or downstream with demonstrated expertise in structural assessment, repair, and strengthening.
* The minimum years of experience may be flexible for candidates who can clearly demonstrate that they are already performing at or above the level of responsibility expected for this position.*
* ** Dedicated self-starter**, motivated to contribute to the growth of an expanding consulting practice based on a "principles first" problem-solving approach
