Sales Engineer
Our client is a leading manufacturer of technologies and solutions for water and wastewater treatment. They deliver proven, effective, and sustainable solutions for the disinfection and filtration of water.
The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for preparing technical and commercial proposals in compliance with customers’ requirements/specifications, providing the best application solutions to customers and managing the bidding process in collaboration with Regional Sales Managers.
Responsibilities- Generating equipment technical scopes and commercial proposals, and providing a coherent unitary bid package for customer review.
- Being responsible for the review of project/application specifications, equipment requirements, equipment selections, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Recommending and assisting sales on technical application solutions based on specific customers’ requirements and challenges.
- Specifying size and selecting engineered systems and/or equipment in accordance with customer-supplied specifications and/or performance requirements.
- Reviewing customer-supplied Terms and Conditions with the legal team to ensure compliance with the company’s contractual policies.
- Generating detailed cost analysis for custom-engineered equipment and systems. Including compilation of purchased subcomponents, labor, field service, and manufacturing costs by accessing archived records, outside vendors, and other sources as necessary.
- Generating equipment pricing from cost estimates, ensuring proper margins and commissions.
- Maintaining compliance with the company’s required monetary level of approvals and sign-offs.
- Maintaining and controlling the latest equipment price lists and validity, including vendors’ price lists.
- Defining and supporting regulatory issues with sales or service projects.
- Working with Sales, Engineering and Operations in the review of project plans and specifications.
- Attending technical meetings with customers during the tendering process.
- Understanding and adhering to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions.
- BS degree in Engineering and at least 7 years of experience in a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- EIT or PE designation a plus.
- The ability to communicate technically and commercially with management, sales, legal, vendors, client’s engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with Salesforce.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
The salary for this position is $115 to $120K or commensurate with experience and full benefits.
