Our client is seeking a Project Engineer IV to lead technical execution of pipeline integrity maintenance projects, including ILI maintenance digs, cathodic protection remediation, corrosion mitigation, and integrity repair activities. This role requires advanced knowledge of PHMSA 192/195 regulations, Integrity Management Programs (IMP), and engineering project lifecycle processes. The engineer collaborates with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and cost‑effective project delivery.
This position is ideal for an engineer with strong hands‑on integrity experience, the ability to navigate large enterprise environments, and a track record of delivering technically complex projects.
Contract Duration: 12 months | W2
Work Model: Onsite 4 days/week; remote Fridays
Location: Houston, TX (Only local candidates will be considered)
Requirements Integrity Engineering & Technical Execution- Apply advanced knowledge of pipeline design principles, codes, and standards.
- Lead engineering phases for integrity maintenance projects (ILI digs, CP remediation, corrosion mitigation, repair methods)
- Provide technical guidance on repair methods including sleeves, composite wraps, recoating, cut‑outs, and other industry‑accepted techniques.
- Interpret engineering deliverables and ensure technical accuracy across project documentation.
- Support commissioning, project closeout, and regulatory documentation.
- Lead meetings, present technical recommendations, and mentor junior engineers.
- Develop engineering execution strategies aligned with project objectives, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate RFIs, technical clarifications, procurement specifications, and contractor interfaces.
- Ensure all work complies with PHMSA 192/195 regulations and Integrity Management Program requirements.
- Champion best‑practice safety standards and maintain strong awareness of operational risks.
- Maintain accurate project files, records, drawings, and databases to meet regulatory and internal standards.
- Work with internal stakeholders across engineering, construction, project controls, and operations.
- Coordinate with external engineering firms and contractors to ensure alignment on technical requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to engineering workflow enhancements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing cost/schedule, RFIs, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Ability to work effectively in large enterprise environments (5,000+ employees)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry.
- At least 2 years in a project engineering role focused on asset integrity, cathodic protection, or corrosion mitigation.
- Hands‑on experience with: ILI maintenance digs, Cathodic protection remediation, Corrosion mitigation and Integrity repair methods.
- Strong understanding of Integrity Management Programs (IMP) and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced knowledge of pipeline design principles, codes, and engineering standards.
- Familiarity with NDT technologies.
- PE license
- Lead certification
- System flow analysis
- Aconex experience
- Experience with Power BI
- Experience with risk analysis
- Corrosion control or asset integrity certifications
