Job Description
Houston,TX (Houston– The Woodlands– Sugar Land)
Role summary. Provide electrical engineering leadership for building‑design projects throughout the Houston metropolitan area. Responsibilities include performing load calculations; designing power distribution, lighting and emergency‑power systems; creating detailed BIM models in Revit
; preparing construction documents; and coordinating with mechanical and plumbing disciplines. Houston’s climate and local codes require compliance with Texas building standards. Designers must be familiar with the International Building Code and the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), which Texas adopts as the minimum energy‑efficiency standard. Awareness of the Texas Alternative Energy Code (TAECC) performance compliance option is helpful.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Texas PE license (or ability to obtain within one year).
- 4+ years of building‑design experience and proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of NEC,
IBC and Texas energy codes (IECC and TAECC). - Ability to produce and check load calculations, short‑circuit studies and arc‑flash analysis.
- Strong communication skills for coordination with clients, architects and contractors.
