We have an exciting opportunity for a PTCS Thermal Analysis Engineer to join the team with Intuitive Machines, a teammate company.
- Develop and maintain high-fidelity thermal models using tools such as Thermal Desktop and SINDA/FLUINT.
- Perform steady-state and transient thermal analyses for spacecraft components and integrated systems.
- Evaluate thermal performance under various mission phases, including launch, transit, lunar orbit, and quiescent modes.
- Support thermal verification activities, including test planning, data analysis, and model correlation.
- Collaborate with design teams to optimize thermal control strategies (e.g., insulation, heaters, radiators) and provide guidance on thermal considerations.
- Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and anomaly investigations.
- Document analysis results and present findings to internal stakeholders and NASA customers.
- Review NASA and vendor thermal designs to ensure compliance with requirements and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and typically 2–5 years of related experience.
- Experience with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop, COMSOL, ANSYS Fluent, or similar software.
- Proven experience in thermal analysis and design for aerospace systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
- Strong capability to assess and validate thermal designs for technical accuracy and compliance.
- BS degree in engineering from an accredited school and a minimum of two years of direct engineering experience.
- Familiar with JSC organizations, processes, and procedures.
- Experience in design, analysis, testing, certification, and operation of space PTCS systems and components (e.g., MLI, thermal blankets, radiators, heat pipes).
- Experience with Thermal Desktop is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Engineering Life Cycle process.

- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation

Physical Requirements
- Office environment with potential inside or outside work depending on task
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods; lifting up to 25 lbs may be required
- Regular attendance is critical; ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust to peak periods
- Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork
- Grooming and dress must be appropriate and not pose a safety risk
