Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Computer Aided Design (CAD) Designer, located in Houston, TX. The CAD Designer will be responsible for producing accurate and constructible civil engineering plans with minimal supervision. They will work collaboratively with engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality plans. The role includes revising and updating designs to meet project requirements and ensuring all work adheres to industry and company standards.

Key Responsibilities Design & Drafting
  • Independently develop detailed civil design drawings including plan and profile sheets, grading plans, drainage layouts, utility plans, and traffic control sheets.
  • Build and manage design surfaces, alignments, and model data in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Perform volume calculations, earthwork analysis, and other design computations.
  • Prepare complete plan sets and construction documents across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards including Harris County, Harris County Flood Control District, City of Houston, TxDOT, and other regional agencies in Arizona and Nevada.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred)
  • Experience in creating and understanding Construction Drawings
  • Experience in preparing plan and profile sheets, grading and creating surfaces
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering specifications
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and meet project deadlines
  • Familiarity with land development and construction industry practices is an advantage
