The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the technical execution of integrity-driven engineering projects, including maintenance digs, cathodic protection upgrades, and remediation initiatives. You will guide projects through the full lifecycle, ensuring strong performance in safety, quality, cost management, and compliance while driving continuous improvement. Success in this position requires sound engineering judgment, collaboration, and the ability to solve complex technical challenges with meaningful schedule and budget impact.
Whatare the responsibilities?
As a Project Engineer, you will:
- Lead engineering activities for integrity maintenance and remediation projects from planning through closeout
- Develop and implement execution strategies that align with project objectives, timelines, and quality expectations
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure technical accuracy and compliance
- Review and validate technical content in purchase orders, RFIs, and project documentation
- Support commissioning efforts and ensure all regulatory documentation and records are complete
- Monitor project costs, resources, and risks while identifying and implementing technical improvements
- Provide subject matter expertise during standards reviews and project discussions
- Promote and uphold best-in-class safety practices across all project phases
- Minimum 5 years of progressive engineering experience in natural gas or petrochemical environments
- At least 2 years in a similar project engineering capacity focused on asset integrity, corrosion control, or cathodic protection
- Strong knowledge of project lifecycle processes, engineering design standards, and integrity repair methods
- Understanding of PHMSA Codes 192 and 195 and integrity program compliance requirements
- Familiarity with NDT methods and construction/constructability practices
- Experience with project controls, estimating, procurement, and contract administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a strong safety mindset
- Preferred: PE license, corrosion or asset integrity certifications, risk analysis experience, pipeline construction exposure, Power BI, Aconex, system flow analysis, or lead certification
