please note: this position is located in illinois. Relocation will be required for this position. All interested candidates must be able to work on-site and relocate for the position.
the engineering manager will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of a highly skilled engineering team while ensuring company objectives and goals are met.
job summarythis person would be responsible for leading 3-4 employees and will directly oversee the engineering department. This is a hands‑on role, and the engineering manager will perform the following duties:
- provides hands‑on support with engineering project requirements.
- leads and coordinates various engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, sales support, production support, and development of new and existing product lines.
- facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
- ensures projects comply with specifications, timelines, and elevator code.
- reviews work and projects for technical accuracy.
- establishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
- maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
- strong knowledge of elevator codes and compliance requirements.
- must have prior experience working in accordance with asme 17.1 elevator codes and excellent problem‑solving skills.
- innovative with a “think outside the box” mentality.
- proficient with utilizing autocad software.
- thorough understanding of engineering theory and design criteria.
- thorough understanding of applied math and physics.
- excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- proficient with microsoft office suite or related software.
- 5+ years of experience leading an engineering team.
- bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
