We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

At Worley, you are not simply updating schedules – you are influencing project outcomes, aligning multidisciplinary teams, and providing the analytical insight that enables safe, predictable, and high‑performing execution.
You will be responsible for driving planning excellence across engineering and construction scopes, ensuring that every schedule reflects reality, risk, and opportunity.
Worley delivers major projects across the global energy and resources sectors, and our Power Generation portfolio requires experienced planning leadership capable of navigating complexity with confidence.
Purpose of the roleAs a Principal Project Planner, you coordinate the activities of schedulers across one or more large‑scale power generation construction projects. You assume responsibility for assessing the accuracy and integrity of all engineering and construction schedules, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements, execution strategy, and site realities.
You provide technical leadership in planning methodology, influence decision‑making at the project and organizational level, and strengthen the overall intellectual capital of the business through disciplined analysis and forward‑looking insight.
This role is primarily technical rather than managerial; however, it carries significant influence over project strategy, performance forecasting, and risk mitigation.
Core Responsibilities- Leading the development, integration, and maintenance of EPC construction schedules for complex power generation projects.
- Coordinating the activities of project schedulers to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with Worley standards and client expectations.
- Assessing schedule integrity, including logic, critical path validity, float management, and resource loading.
- Identifying trends, patterns, and emerging risks through schedule analytics and proactively advising project leadership.
- Setting planning priorities across multi‑project or organizational environments with broad impact.
- Supporting project controls strategy including progress measurement, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Assisting in the presentation and explanation of scheduling procedures and methodologies to clients and stakeholders.
- Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and training to planning and scheduling personnel.
- Contributing to the development or refinement of planning systems, tools, and processes.
- Collaborating with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure schedule alignment with execution strategy.
- Ensuring planning deliverables support safety, constructability, and regulatory compliance objectives.
What you’ll bring to the role includes deep technical capability, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable direction.
You demonstrate- 10+ years of progressive planning and scheduling experience, with significant exposure to power generation construction projects (thermal, combined cycle, renewable, or similar large‑scale facilities).
- Proven experience leading or coordinating scheduling teams on EPC or large construction programs.
- Advanced proficiency with industry‑standard scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6 or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, critical path methodology (CPM), and earned value principles.
- Ability to proactively identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate impacts clearly.
- Experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams in high‑performance project environments.
