Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to support water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects within our Governments & Water Utilities group. This role focuses on developing site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D
, with some exposure to Bentley Micro Station
. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in plan and profile development, pipe and pressure networks, and grading, and works collaboratively with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality project documentation.
- Develop and modify civil design deliverables including site grading, drainage, and utility plans
- Create and maintain plan & profile drawings
, alignments, surfaces, and pipe/pressure networks using Autodesk Civil 3D - Support engineering teams by preparing technical drawings, calculations, material quantities, and estimates
- Ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, company policies, and quality requirements
- Review design inputs and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure consistency and constructability
- Apply company quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
- Provide technical guidance and review work produced by other technicians as needed
- Assist with scheduling, task coordination, and occasional field support
- Stay current on industry tools, technologies, and best practices related to water and utility infrastructure
- Advanced experience with Autodesk Civil 3D
, including: - Pipe and pressure networks
- Proposed grading surfaces
- Plan and profile development
- Strong working knowledge of alignments, grading, and utility design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Bluebeam
- Familiarity with engineering standards, document control, and quality procedures
- Understanding of basic engineering design principles and construction practices
- Ability to interpret engineering design documents and technical deliverables
- Minimum of 5 years of related civil design experience
, preferably in water, wastewater, or utility projects
