Caturus, LLC, an integrated natural gas and LNG company focused on responsible sourcing of low-emission fuel to domestic and international markets. Commonwealth LNG is developing a 9.5 Mtpa liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal project located near Cameron, Louisiana is looking for an Engineer, Senior Tank to join our team. This role will manage the design, construction, integrity, and operations of large-scale cryogenic storage tanks for Liquefied Natural Gas facilities, focusing on safety, compliance (API 620/625), technical specifications, vendor management, and leading teams for EPC projects, ensuring designs meet cryogenic, pressure, and material standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead engineering for tank design, materials, fabrication, and construction, ensuring compliance with codes (API 620, 625, ASME, ACI 376) and project specs.
- Review technical drawings and layouts for the tanks, ensuring they meet industry standards and safety regulations.
- Specify, select, and engineer equipment for LNG projects (LNG Tank design and execution).
- Review technical specs, bid evaluations, and manage contractor/vendor interfaces for large projects.
- Develop equipment strategies, conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and ensure asset integrity for storage systems.
- Provide technical guidance during construction, commissioning, operations, and potential retrofits or decommissioning.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and safety inspectors to oversee the installation and maintenance of tanks.
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the position successfully.
Education, Certificates, and Licenses:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering required. Advance degree preferred.
- License Professional Engineering (PE) strongly preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience as a Engineer. LNG experience is strongly preferred.
- LNG experience, with specific expertise in tank technology, design, construction, and operations of onshore/floating LNG is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with Oil and Gas industry best in class specifications and practices.
- Experience working in the commissioning, start-up, and early operations at an LNG facility. Prefer prior experience with performance testing of LNG facilities including interpretation of Contractual terms and translation into Operating Procedures.
- Experience in the liaising and working both within multi-disciplinary design and operational facility environment.
- Experience with LNG project process design requirements and work processes through EPC, commissioning, and start-up.
- Proactive and problem-solving attitude, analytic, flexible, team player.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time effective manner.
