Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineering
Instrumentation / I&E Engineer
Midstream Oil and Gas
We’re partnering with a well-established, privately owned engineering firm supporting midstream oil and gas operators across Texas and surrounding regions. Their work primarily covers meter stations, pipelines, and smaller facilities, delivered through a lean, execution-focused team.
This role is suited to an engineer who wants to take full ownership of instrumentation scope and remain hands-on across the project lifecycle.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading instrumentation engineering packages from early definition through construction and commissioning support. Projects are typically smaller in scale but run concurrently, requiring strong organisation, prioritisation, and independent decision-making.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and reviewing instrument specifications, datasheets, and indexes
- Setting technical intent and coordinating with designers on deliverables
- Reviewing vendor submittals and supporting technical bid evaluations
- Working closely with mechanical, electrical, and client teams
- Supporting construction, responding to RFIs, and assisting with commissioning activities
This is not a drafting-only position, nor is it a controls-programming-heavy role. It is a delivery-focused engineering position within a fast-moving midstream environment.
The Profile
- Experience supporting midstream facilities such as pipelines and meter stations
- Demonstrated ability to lead instrumentation scope independently
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working in lean teams with clear accountability
- Practical, solution-oriented mindset
You’ll join a long-established firm where engineers are trusted to run their work and stay close to clients.
