The ABB Robotics Engineer provides advanced technical support for automated test stands, specializing in ABB robotic systems. This role focuses on troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining both robot hardware and software to ensure continuous operational uptime. The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on expertise with ABB platforms and a disciplined approach to root‑cause analysis and system optimization.
ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and maintain ABB robotic systems, including IRC5 controllers and associated hardware.
Develop, modify, and optimize RAPID code and Pick Master configurations for automated test applications.
Diagnose and resolve complex robotic, electrical, and software issues to maintain test stand uptime.
Program and integrate complex robotics systems within automated environments.
Research, develop, and implement improvements to robotic systems and components.
Evaluate, calibrate, and fine‑tune robotic systems for performance and efficiency.
Interpret technical procedures, schematics, and engineering documentation to support system modifications.
Build and support electronic components and mechanisms related to robotic applications.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, service records, and change logs.
Demonstrated expertise in ABB robotics troubleshooting, programming, and maintenance.
Experience working with IRC5 controllers, RAPID programming, and Pick Master software.
Strong ability to perform structured root‑cause analysis and resolve complex automation issues.
Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, schematics, and engineering documentation.
Experience writing software and supporting robotic control systems.
Proven ability to maintain robotics systems in a production or automated test environment.
