From Caturus Energy’s Houston office, you will be working Caturus’ South TX HPHT assets by delivering production enhancing/protecting/restoration activities (workovers, well surveillance work and well integrity work).
The Sr. Well Interventions Engineer is responsible for designing, planning and preparing procedures that comply with state & federal regulations and conform with Caturus’ policies & procedures. The Well Interventions Engineer works with cross-functional peers in drilling, completions, well operations, production and subsurface to ensure intervention design, engineering and planning conforms to all project/business objectives. This position applies in-depth subject knowledge as an experienced intervention professional in workovers, interventions & well integrity activities and has a role in a multi-discipline team responsible for selecting opportunities, estimating costs, preparing AFE’s and planning and executing well and interventions work safely.
KeyAccountabilities
- Research well history information and develop & prepare procedures for proposed well activity.
- Delivers requirements necessary for well work activity, such as time & cost estimates, AFE’s, engineering studies, scheduling & resourcing and contractor & partner engagements.
- Supports execution of operations (interventions engineering support, performance / cost tracking & reporting, contractor management, logistics support).
- Applies standards, procedures and practices as well as appropriate engineering workflows and tools to tasks, procedures and projects.
- Identifies & notifies management of potential cost overruns & utilizes the MOC process to request approval of additional funds necessary to complete the project.
- Identifies and manages key risks in accordance with Caturus, contractor, and regulatory requirements.
- Considers & ensures well control requirements in procedures and at all stages of well activity execution.
- Reviews workover history & costs & identifies, implements and shares lessons learned & recommends improvements.
- Being a safety leader by creating a consistent safety culture built on a foundation of trust, caring for others and speaking up.
- Supports field operations 24/7, as well as in the field both as needed & warranted to develop and maintain relationships.
Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering is preferred; other engineering degrees will be considered.
Experience- 10+ years of industry experience in well interventions, workover and well integrity work.
- A strong understanding of well interventions, workovers and well integrity work.
- A high degree of competency in workover rig, wellhead / well construction, slick-line, e-line and coil tubing.
- A strong understanding of Well View.
- An understanding of snubbing/hydraulic workover operations.
- An understanding of completion design.
- Ability to integrate with other disciplines and deliver in multi-discipline teams.
- Experience in resolving performance issues with service providers and suppliers.
- Experience in South TX HPHT gas (Webb, LaSalle, McMullen, Karnes & Live Oak Counties) required;
Haynesville experience is a plus. - Experience preparing & presenting to management.
- Experience in OI invoice review / approval, cost control & reconciling actual & field estimated cost variances.
