The Analyzer Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of process analyzers and related equipment in an industrial environment. This role ensures continuous monitoring, accurate measurements, and compliance with quality and safety standards. The technician works closely with operations, production, service, and engineering teams to ensure optimal performance of instrumentation and process control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and calibrate process analyzers, gas chromatographs, calorimeters, viscometers, TDL and other analytical instrumentation.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair analyzer systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure analyzer accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards for instrumentation.
- Document maintenance activities, calibration records, and equipment performance data.
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering departments to optimize process performance and analyzer functionality.
- Monitor and adjust analyzer parameters for continuous process improvement.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and/or Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) as required.
- Provide technical support and training for other maintenance personnel as needed.
- Participate in commissioning and startup activities for new analyzer systems and related equipment.
- Up to 50% Travel Required
Skills and Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with process analyzers, instrumentation, or similar systems in industrial settings.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Knowledge of gas chromatography, spectrometry, and other industrial analytical techniques.
- Familiarity with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Certification in Instrumentation or related areas (e.g., ISA Certified Control Systems Technician).
- Must have TWIC Card and valid Driver’s License
- Experience in the oil & gas, chemical, or power generation industries.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA) for process controls and hazardous materials.
- Industrial or manufacturing setting with exposure to hazardous materials and extreme temperatures.
- Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in confined spaces as needed.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
