Senior Network Engineer (Hybrid – Houston, TX) | Cisco Switching & Aruba Wireless | Large-Scale Refresh Project

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid – onsite at the Houston HQ 1–2 days/week)

Duration: 6–12 months to start (with strong possibility of extension through April 2027)

We’re seeking a Senior Network Engineer in the Houston area to join our client's Network Resources team on a major North America–wide switch and access point refresh initiative
. This high‑impact, multi‑year program runs through April 2027
, and your work will directly reduce the weekend workload on an already busy engineering team.

This role blends network design, hardware staging, and remote implementation leadership
. You’ll support staging efforts onsite and provide technical oversight during weekend switch cutovers.

• Create, update, and review network designs in Visio
  , aligned to our client's published standards.
• Collaborate with PMs and the engineering team to prepare for each site’s refresh cycle.

• Apply staging configurations to Cisco switches.
• Label, pack, and prepare equipment for shipment.

• Provide technical leadership during weekend switch/AP refreshes (Sat/Sun).
• Guide onsite rack/stack resources through cutovers.
• Perform validation using provided scripts.
• Support Monday hypercare to resolve any post‑implementation issues.

• Cisco switching (core competency)
• Aruba or Cisco wireless
• VLAN configuration
• Troubleshooting end‑user device and network connectivity
• Experience with large‑scale network refresh or lifecycle management projects

• Local to Houston, TX
• Strong communication skills—comfortable guiding onsite technicians remotely
• Ability to manage structured weekend work while balancing weekday hours

• Weekday flexibility
  : ability to take weekdays off as needed to maintain 40–50 hrs/week.
• Travel
  : minimal (~10%).
