This position serves as the primary/lead operator for the City’s Water and Wastewater systems and is responsible for the City’s day-to-day water plant operations and quality compliance testing programs. This position may be assigned to other various operations, maintenance, and construction projects of the Public Works Department, including: street and drainage system construction and maintenance, maintenance and operations, storm water system maintenance and compliance, parks maintenance, operation of heavy equipment, and right-of-way management.
ExperienceMinimum of three (3) years of experience in ground water plant and heavy equipment operations, road construction, public works, and utilities installation, operation, and repair, with municipal experience preferred. Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above-specified education and experience requirements.
Licenses and Certifications- Valid Texas Class C driver’s license
- Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Class C Ground Water Operator License.
- Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Class B Groundwater Operator License required within 12 months of employment
- Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Wastewater Collection II license required within 12 months of employment
- National Incident Command System (NIMS) ISO 100 and 700 required within six (6) months of employment.
