Fire Protection Engineer
As a Fire Protection Engineer
, you will work alongside a robust staff of experienced and licensed engineers to design and deliver challenging and engaging building projects across many different markets globally.
You’ll provide support to teams on critical projects, directing the activities of design staff to produce drawings and calculations for fire sprinkler systems, special hazards suppression systems, fire pumps, fire alarm and mass notification systems, and building/life safety code analysis.
Here’s what you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Safety Technology or another related discipline.
- At least 10 years of related professional experience.
- Will not now or in the future require sponsorship for an employment visa (examples: H‑1B, L‑1B, or other temporary visa status like OPT or F‑1) to work for Jacobs in the U.S.
- Familiarity with NFPA and ICC codes and standards.
- Willingness to travel to job sites around the world (approximately 10‑15% travel).
- Experience in fire sprinkler, suppression, and fire alarm system layout utilizing hydraulic calculation programs, and knowledge of NFPA Codes and International Building and Fire Codes.
- PE in any U.S. State, having passed the fire protection engineering examination.
The base salary range for this position is $95,200.00 to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
