This is a technical and business development position within the Power Business Unit of Hatch. The role offers professional growth for the selected individual within the nuclear power group through engagement in business development and project execution for studies, detailed design, and owner’s engineering work for our clients.
Role & Responsibilities- Plan, execute, and deliver high‑quality engineering and technical consulting services for nuclear power projects.
- Manage assigned studies and projects for clients, including interfacing and reporting, monitoring budgets and schedules.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff on specialized nuclear technical design and the nuclear engineering design process.
- Support other regions in the development and delivery of projects within Hatch.
- Review and approve technical deliverables.
- Support business development efforts and strategic initiatives, including proposal preparation and pursuit plans for the nuclear Sub‑BU.
- Manage the proposal process for RFPs, EOIs, RFQs, and other formats.
- Adhere to and promote the Hatch culture.
- Engineering degree from a recognized college.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience within the nuclear power industry.
- Experience working in a consulting engineering environment.
- Experience with light water reactors and advanced reactor designs.
- Ability to manage and motivate individuals to achieve quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Strong deliverable focus and planning skills.
- Broad knowledge of codes and standards for the nuclear industry.
- High degree of understanding of inter‑discipline dependencies.
- Facility with preparing, reading, and analyzing engineering documents (P&IDs, PFDs, SLDs, plot plans, etc.).
- Proven track record in business development, client relations, and proposal management.
- Flexibility for short‑term business travel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to plan and write comprehensive project reports.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and people‑management experience.
- Experience in engineering, procurement and construction, and other project‑related activities and their interfaces.
- Strong understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to projects.
- Quick learner with a willingness to tackle new challenges.
- Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical and creative thinking with a focus on solutions for client challenges.
- Adaptability and embrace of change.
