Power Systems Engineer Job Description
Contribute to space power system-level requirements by designing electrical power distribution hardware, including voltage conversion, isolation, conditioning, and related fault protection and management. Develop integration and test plans for electrical power distribution equipment and create test systems to verify and validate these systems. Assist in creating interface control documents between electrical power distribution hardware and other spacecraft subsystems, and support milestone reviews across design, manufacturing, testing, and operations phases.
Responsibilities- Design electrical power distribution hardware, ensuring compliance with system-level requirements.
- Develop and execute integration and test plans for power distribution systems.
- Create and implement test systems to verify and validate electrical power distribution equipment.
- Contribute to the development of interface control documents between power distribution hardware and other spacecraft subsystems.
- Participate in and support milestone reviews, including design, manufacturing, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in power system design, integration, and testing.
- Proficiency with hardware test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic load banks, power supplies, and power analyzers.
- Extensive experience in power systems within Aerospace & Defense sectors.
- Strong experience in systems engineering, hardware, and electrical system design.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in power systems, flight hardware, verification, validation, and fault protection.
- Understanding of system-level requirements.
Work within the Axiom Avionics division, collaborating with a dynamic power group. The environment focuses on innovation and excellence in power systems engineering.
Job Type & LocationThis is a contract position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
