The Marine Field Service Engineer (FSE) plans and executes complex technical field assignments, including installation, modification, testing, inspection, and repair of company products and equipment, primarily marine power generation and distribution systems and ABB marine equipment.
This position reports to Technical Support Manager.
Location & Work ModelBased in Miramar, FL or Houston, TX. The work model is hybrid.
Responsibilities- Work independently to install, modify, test, repair, or inspect products and equipment, including liquid‑cooled variable frequency drives, low and medium voltage systems, and automation systems and programming.
- Perform or coordinate complex and diverse engineering activities associated with field projects.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics and make changes in the field as needed.
- Increase product and technical knowledge through training, manuals, and other resources.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying personal knowledge and experience.
- Four or more years of experience in marine power generation and power distribution, focusing on variable frequency drives, low and medium voltage, and control systems and programming.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures.
- Experience with ABB marine equipment preferred.
- Ship electrician experience or experience from shipyards, with understanding and interest in marine installations.
