Our Oil & Gas client is seeking an experienced Senior Planning / Scheduling Engineer to support a large EPC project. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules, supporting project controls, and working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Work location: Houston, TX during the engineering phase, then project site in Greater Baton Rouge, LA area
- Work Schedule: 40 hours a week / Monday-Friday
- Work type: 1-year W2 Contract with potential for renewal
- Rate: Hourly with 1.5x OT
- Benefits: Medical / Dental / Vision
- Per diem package: Offered upon move to secondary work location in Louisiana.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
- Build and update schedules for engineering, procurement, subcontracts, construction, and commissioning activities
- Monitor project progress, milestones, critical path, and schedule risks
- Analyze schedule impacts from scope changes, resource shifts, or project priorities
- Prepare schedule reports, lookaheads, resource reports, and schedule presentations
- Perform critical path analysis, resource loading, and schedule forecasting
- Review vendor and contractor schedules and identify impacts to the integrated project schedule
- Support earned value progress tracking and schedule performance reporting
- Participate in project meetings and provide schedule updates and recommendations
Requirements:
- Strong planning/scheduling experience on large EPC or mega projects
- Industrial, oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, or industrial gases project experience preferred
- Strong Primavera P6 experience required
- Experience with critical path analysis, resource loading, earned value, and schedule risk analysis
- Deltek Acumen experience is a plus
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred
- 15+ years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
