What role you will play in our team
The Integrated Pressure Prediction Specialist will conduct applied project work integrating geophysical, petrophysical, mud logging, drilling mechanics, and geomechanics data into geologic scenario-based assessments of subsurface pore pressure and minimum stress. This will be applied to the planning and execution of Exxon Mobil’s drill-wells world-wide, both pre-and post-drill, and at scales ranging from wellbore specific to basin wide. We are seeking an experienced Integrated Pressure Prediction Specialist to join a creative and fast-paced multi-disciplinary team of pressure prediction and geomechanics specialists located in Houston (USA) to work challenging pore pressure and in-situ stress analysis problems.
The desired candidate must be an excellent communicator and integrator and be able to collaborate with colleagues in Bengaluru (India). The candidate must be highly organized, able to change tactics as conditions dictate, develop and evaluate multiple scenarios, and incorporate uncertainties into predictions, with demonstrated business acumen and commercial sophistication.
Spring, TX, United State
What you will do
- Conduct Integrated Pressure and Stress Prediction studies (may include but not limited to)
- Develop offset well stick charts summarizing drilling results and pressure indicators for offset wells. Integrate offset well data into a wellbore specific post-drill interpretation of pore pressure and in-situ stress at offset wells.
- Act as the link to multidisciplinary capabilities and resources within and outside Exxon Mobil, champion the use of relevant data for integrated regional and target-oriented pressure prediction.
- Integrate wellbore specific pressure estimates with geologic interpretation to establish sub-regional to basin-scale controls on pressure and stress.
- Evaluate response of physical properties to pressure (e.g., sonic velocity or resistivity).
- Integrate offset well drilling results with seismic velocity data and the prospect geology to develop wellbore specific pre-drill pressure prognoses appropriate for drill…
