Position Summary
The Reservoir Engineer joins the Uinta Asset team, focusing on development and asset optimization within a fast‑paced, lean environment. The role requires a self‑starter, collaborative technical expert who delivers high quality work and supports budget planning, field operations, and commercial decision‑making.
Core Competencies and Skills- Familiarity with SPEE best practices in type well construction
- Proficient in using commercial software to perform RTA or PTA (CPG Analysis)
- Use of economic software to analyze AFE’s, development planning, operations (e.g., workovers), acreage evaluations, and larger acquisitions or divestitures
- Perform large‑scale field surveillance, preferably with Spotfire or similar
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to distill complex subsurface findings for cross‑disciplinary stakeholders
- Commercially minded, driving solutions and optimizations that add value
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably Petroleum Engineering)
- 8+ years of experience, including a minimum of 4 years in Reservoir Engineering
- Experience with unconventional reservoirs in the Lower 48 or Canada
- Proficient in Aries or Combo Curve
- Proficient in Whitson+ or Harmony
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR that meet company insurance qualifications for vehicle operation
- Contributing team member for an active horizontal drilling program
- Independent technical and commercial inputs for development planning and operations
- Experience in another engineering discipline (e.g., production, completions)
- Assisted in annual reserves and A&D processes
- Evaluated assets in the Rockies
- Accountable for PDP forecasts and type curves for assigned wells
- Deliver AFE’s and capital project recommendations for the area
- Provide technical support for field development, including appraisal plans, spacing, completion trials, and competitor benchmarking
- Contribute as a subsurface expert within a multidisciplinary team and stakeholder in surface operations
- Assist with technical support for annual reserves and A&D work
- Support annual budget and planning (commercial & LOE analyses, production forecasts, development strategy)
- Own drawdown plan for all wedge wells
- Coordinate with state and regulatory bodies on field rules and planning
- Participate regularly in subsurface and operations team meetings
- Visit the field semi‑annually for well reviews with Operations teams
