Structural Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Structural Project Manager to lead the design and delivery of structural engineering projects across land development and public works sectors. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage projects from concept through construction.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum 8 years of experience in structural design and plan production
• Experience with land development and/or public works projects, including bridges, water/wastewater facilities, and miscellaneous structures
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as RISA, STAAD, and/or MIDAS
• Working knowledge of Micro Station preferred
• PMP certification, Envision certification, and/or Master’s degree is a plus

• Manage structural projects from conceptual design through final design and delivery
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment and efficiency
• Oversee construction phase services, including site visits, shop drawing reviews, and RFI responses
• Develop technical reports, proposals, and client communications
• Establish project schedules, budgets, and design approaches
• Supervise and mentor engineering and support staff
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, agencies, and stakeholders

• Project Management – define project scope, tasks, and priorities; allocate resources; monitor schedules and ensure timely delivery; motivate and lead project teams; coordinate & collaborate with other disciplines and consultants.
• Design & Change Management – evaluate impacts of design changes; communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Proposals & Contracts – understand contract terms; prepare scopes of work and fee estimates; develop and revise proposals.
• Client Management – maintain responsive communication; provide updates.
• Quality Assurance / Quality Control – follow QA/QC procedures; review team deliverables.
• Problem Solving – identify challenges and develop solutions; lead technical decision-making.
• Financial Management – support billing and revenue tracking; assist with accounts receivable and collections.
• Technical Expertise – oversight & QA/QC of structural analysis; guide staff.
• Business Development – participate in industry events; build relationships; pursue opportunities; maintain resume and project experience.
