Compensation: $90,000 – $135,000 base salary + 10%–20% performance bonus
Position OverviewWe are seeking a Structural Engineer with EPC and modular engineering experience to support the design, development, and execution of large-scale hyperscale data center infrastructure modules.
This role partners closely with Engineering leadership and is responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and performance of systems across all project phases—from design through commissioning and site support.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in structural steel design, modular/skid systems, and piping/equipment supports, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving and cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Review, check, and approve structural drawings, calculations, and engineering documentation to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
- Support design, fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning of data center modules
- Perform and verify structural analysis for:
- Steel frames, skids, platforms, and walkways
- Equipment supports, piping supports, and lifting devices
- Weld sizing and connection design
- Develop engineering deliverables including:
- General arrangements, connection details, weld details
- Structural calculations and design documentation
- Material Take‑Offs (MTOs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Prepare Technical Requisition s (TRs) and review vendor proposals
- Coordinate with drafting/design teams to define structural layouts and critical support locations
- Support manufacturing teams during fabrication and resolve production issues
- Provide technical support during construction, including RFI responses and issue resolution
- Participate in client meetings and act as a technical point of contact
- Assist with troubleshooting installation and commissioning challenges
- Oversee and coordinate work performed by third‑party engineering firms
- Develop and validate project‑specific Design Basis documents
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements
- Identify opportunities to optimize cost, quality, and schedule through innovative design solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
- 2–10+ years of structural engineering experience (flexible depending on level)
- Experience in EPC environments required
- Strong experience with:
- Equipment and piping supports
- Structural steel design and analysis
- Data center project experience highly preferred
- Experience supporting fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases
- Knowledge of welding practices and structural connection design
- Ability to interpret and apply industry codes and standards
Working knowledge of applicable standards including: AISC, AISI, ANSI, ASTM, AWS, IBC, OSHA, NFPA, MFMA.
Technical SkillsRequired
- Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
- PDF tools (Adobe Acrobat, Foxit, or equivalent)
- Bentley STAAD.Pro (RISA considered but not preferred)
