Bridge Project Engineer

This opportunity entails being responsible for the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects. You will consult with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design and delivery. You will apply engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity, leveraging technical knowledge and experience to address design‑related issues.

You will help mentor, train and review the work of junior engineer staff and provide constructive feedback. Your contributions will support the successful project delivery for a diverse range of HNTB projects.

• Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline‑specific work and adherence to the schedule and budget on projects.
• Assist with marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Assist with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within the discipline.
• Oversee completeness and accuracy of the project team's work within the technical discipline.
• Guide and mentor the team to overall project objectives.
• Coordinate technical aspects of the project with client counterparts and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
• Work closely with other disciplines on multi‑discipline projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.

• Extensive experience in TxDOT bridge design with a strong command of current design criteria, specifications, and best practices.
• Understanding of the impacts of decisions on technical design and work planning.
• Coordination of work planning and design effectively across multiple technical disciplines.
• Preparation of high‑quality deliverables that are on time, within budget and scope.

• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• Eight years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering.
