Summary
The Cargo Mission Manager (CMM) with the Mission Integration and Operations Office ensures end‑to‑end integration, verification, and safe delivery of cargo required to sustain ISS operations, crew health, technology, and research objectives. The CMM supports mission‑essential services by coordinating cargo readiness, resolving technical issues, and enabling real‑time decision‑making across spacecraft providers, engineering teams, and operations personnel.
Duties- Leads, provides direction to a cargo mission team for pressurized cargo involving verification, operations, launch processing, logistics, international partner (IP), and payload integration for flights to the International Space Station (ISS).
- Leads the coordination and development of pressurized cargo integration processes with IPs and appropriate NASA disciplines, including leading discussions, reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
- Manages NASA and contractor efforts necessary to integrate and deliver mission integration and operations products for assigned missions.
- Manages pressurized cargo integration requirements, products, and planning to ensure consistency with ISS Program policies and processes for the flight.
- Resolves all pressurized cargo integration issues and ensures that ISS Program requirements are integrated with all program elements such as Flight Operations Directorate, Safety, Engineering, Transportation Integration, and hardware owners.
- Assigns and manages cargo integration actions and ensures decisions and closure rationale are documented.
- This position is open to U.S. citizens, nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.
- This position may require a one‑year probationary period; the requirement will be determined by Title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 11.

To qualify for GS‑14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑13 level:
- Managing cargo delivery and return operations, mission integration activities, and research execution efforts to ensure safe and successful ISS mission operations.
- Coordinating with ISS, commercial cargo, and commercial crew associated responsibilities, operations plans, procedures, policies, and facilities related to cargo delivery and return.
- Leading technical teams and providing administrative support in the planning, preparation, and execution of significant space missions relating to cargo delivery and return.

EducationBasic Education Requirement:
- Engineering from a college or university with ABET‑accredited engineering programs.
- Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science, or other field of Science.
- Computer Science that included 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of coursework in any combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science, with at least half of those hours in mathematics and statistics courses that included differential and integral calculus; and that provided an in‑depth knowledge of theoretical and practical applications of computer science, including digital computer system…
